Position description: Health Mission on the Move is currently seeking health professionals who are currently employed or have retired from an allied health profession. Individuals will be asked to volunteer for specific mission trips in the US. Health professionals include:
~Physicians (especially Pubic Health Physicians)
~Nurses
~Social Workers
~Counselors
~Health Educators
~Nutritionists
~Pharmacists
~Hospital Chaplains
~Physical Therapists
~Dentists and Dental Assistants
~Ophthalmologists
~Dietitians
~Allied Health Field Technicians
and anyone who works in or has worked in the public health sector.
Health professionals will work within the scope of their specific education and training and will be responsible for assisting health mission on the move staff in counseling and informing participants on a broad spectrum of health education, prevention and wellness topics.
Essential job tasks and
responsibilities:
Health professionals will be responsible for assisting health mission on the move staff in counseling and informing participants on a broad spectrum of health education, prevention and wellness topics. Health professionals will also work with health mission on the move staff in reviewing individual participant’s health risk assessments and suggesting preventative/remedial measures that individuals might take to decrease particular risks in their lives. Depending on the particular laws and regulations of the political jurisdiction the van visits, specific health screening may be possible. Individuals who are in specialized fields may be asked to lead small group discussions or presentations on subject matter related to their particular specialty.

Mission description: Health Mission on the Move (HMOM)is a new program bringing important health related services to areas of the US that are medically underserved. Provided through the office of National Health Ministries, HMOM is
an important way for Presbyterians to share our faith, address the health needs of people living in medically under-served areas, to get involved in direct mission at home.
Health Mission on the Move mission trips will enable volunteers – both health professionals and those who bring other experiences - to go to under-served areas to help address unmet health needs and assist people who may feel isolated or alone. When you volunteer, you will receive information and training.

Sites for the Health Mission on the Move must meet the requirement of being in the geographic areas lacking heath care services, or be in rural under-served areas with under-served population groups - throughout the US
The site locations for these mission trips will be selected cooperatively with the congregation or other group(s) underwriting the trip; National Health Ministries, with representation and input from middle-governing bodies; Presbyterian Women, the Rural Church Network, and appropriate others within PC(USA.

Required experience, licenses and

Health professionals / Medical personnel will be expected to provide documentation of appropriate certification or licensure, as well as proof of professional liability insurance.
Background checks and verification of credentials will be completed on all volunteers.
