Position description: Conference Center Nurse and/or EMT to provide basic first aid, handle emergency medical situations and coordinate appropriate care and transportation with local resque squads. The nearest ER is 35 miles away. Resque Squads respond in 25-30 minutes. Ghost Ranch is at an altitude of 6,3000. Many of our participants are over 65 and are not used to exercise at this altitude.

Essential job tasks and responsibilities: Provide first aid for typical camp and conference situations including altitude sickness, heart and respiratory symptoms, falls, etc. Volunteer must be able to decide when it is appropriate to call the rescue squad.

Mission description: Ghost Ranch, an education and retreat center, located in two sites, grounds its life and program in reverence, hospitality for all, and respect for creation. Volunteers are welcomed at both sites to work in many areas, including hospitality, programming, office and administrative work, food service,library, maintenance, campground hosting, housekeeping, gardening and farming.

Description of program location: Ghost Ranch Conference Center is located in two sites. The first is a 21,000 acre ranch in the remote and beautiful northwestern part of New Mexico, 13 miles north of the village of Abiquiu. There are over one hundred fifty rooms and seasonal campground sites. The second site is 65 miles south in Santa Fe, three blocks from the historic plaza. This meeting and conference center has 35 guest rooms.
