Pattern of Service: Mission Volunteer (USA)

Position description: A residential volunteer to manage the 10,000 sq ft Ferncliff Disaster Assistance Center that receives and ships disaster materials working with volunteers.

Essential job tasks and responsibilities: Receive CWS disaster assistance kits as a regional depot and prepare them for reshipping. Also receive material on behalf of Presbyterian Disaster Assistance.

Mission description: Ferncliff is the Presbyterian Camp/Conference Center for the Presbytery of Arkansas which comprises the northern 2/3rds of the state. In addition to traditional summer camps, Ferncliff offers outreach camps for children of incarcerated parents, homeless children and foster care siblings who have been separated.

Length of service:  8-12 months

Description of program location: Ferncliff is located just 10 miles west of Little Rock with 1200 acres nestled in the foothills of the Ouachita (watch-a-taw)mountains. The conference center and youth camp are each located around lakes surrounded by four mountains; Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
